Understanding Convi's Pricing Plans

Written by Shawn

Convi has five plans — Free, Starter, Growth, Scale, and Enterprise — billed per AI resolution. This article explains what's in each plan, how billing works, and how to pick the right one.

  • What's in each plan

  • The Free plan (sandbox-only)

  • The Starter tier (3 sub-tiers + Enterprise)

  • Monthly vs annual

  • Enterprise-only features

  • Sizing helper — picking the right plan

  • What if I exceed the limit?

The plan ladder

Convi's plans on the Settings → Plan screen:

Starter 3

Each higher plan also includes everything from the lower plan, plus additional features (see What's in each plan).

What's in each plan

All paid plans give you the full admin (Home, Train, Evaluate, Publish, Conversations, Analyze, Settings). The differences are about abilities, customization, widget translations, microphone (speech-to-text), custom branding, and dedicated support.

Common features across paid plans:

  • AI agent + semantic product search + unlimited catalog

  • Native Shopify integration + multilingual responses

  • Custom branding + custom widget styling

  • AI behavior customization (tone, length, custom instructions, custom FAQs)

  • Conversation inbox + session management

  • Handover to human + customer-satisfaction feedback

  • Order tracking + order cancellation

  • Analytics & reporting

  • Guided onboarding

Higher plans unlock more abilities (e.g., Web search, Edit shipping address, Microphone speech-to-text, Powered-by toggle) and raise per-ability usage caps. The full feature comparison table is on Settings → Plan.

The Free plan (sandbox-only)

The pricing screen describes Free as:

"Testing only — No live access. Full feature access in admin."

From the pricing FAQ:

"The Free plan gives you access to almost all features — AI customization, knowledge base, conversation inbox, analytics, and more. The only restriction is that the live widget won't appear on your storefront. To go live, upgrade to any Starter plan."

So Free is real Convi minus the live storefront widget. Use it to test the assistant inside the admin (Playground, Pre-flight, Simulations) before paying.

The Starter tier (3 sub-tiers + Enterprise)

The pricing page renders Convi's paid plans as one Starter card with three sub-tiers ($19 / $49 / $99) and a separate Enterprise card ($249). Internally these are sometimes referred to by the founder names:

  • Starter = $19 / 50 resolutions

  • Growth = $49 / 150 resolutions

  • Scale = $99 / 350 resolutions

  • Enterprise = $249 / unlimited resolutions

It's the same prices and same quotas either way — the Starter ladder is one card with three sub-tier toggles inside.

Monthly vs annual

Each plan has a Monthly or Annual billing cycle, toggled at the top of the pricing screen. Annual gives an effective discount (roughly 2 months free on every plan), so the per-month price is lower:

  • Starter — $19 / mo → $16 / mo annual

  • Growth — $49 / mo → $41 / mo annual

  • Scale — $99 / mo → $83 / mo annual

  • Enterprise — $249 / mo → $208 / mo annual

You can switch between Monthly and Annual at any time on Settings → Plan.

Enterprise-only features

The Enterprise card lists four things only available on the $249 tier:

  • Unlimited AI resolutions — no caps on AI conversations; scale without worrying about limits.

  • Onboarding with Account Manager — personal onboarding & setup, ongoing optimization support.

  • Priority support & SLA"Response within 5 minutes", dedicated success manager.

  • Private API key — for custom integrations.

If you're a high-volume merchant or you need a managed onboarding, Enterprise is the path. Click Book a meeting on the Enterprise card to talk to the team.

Sizing helper — picking the right plan

A rule of thumb the pricing page uses:

"Pricing is calculated based on monthly orders, assumed 2 conversations per order."

So if you average 100 orders / month, plan for ~200 conversations / month → Growth (150) might cap you, Scale (350) is the safe choice. If you do 250 orders → Scale at 350 fits comfortably.

If you're not sure, start one tier below what you think you need — you can upgrade in a single click on Settings → Plan, and the upgrade takes effect immediately.

The 7-day free trial

From the pricing FAQ:

"Yes. Every paid plan comes with a 7-day free trial with full access to all features. No credit card is required to start the Free plan."

Some practical points:

  • The trial gives full access to the plan you chose.

  • You can cancel any time during the trial with no charge.

  • The trial is per-plan — if you trial Growth and upgrade to Scale, the trial doesn't reset.

What if I exceed the limit?

When you hit your monthly AI resolution cap, the AI pauses answering new conversations and they get handed over to your team until the cycle resets. From the in-product limit banner:

"You've used all {N} AI conversations on the {plan} plan. New shoppers are now handed over to your team. Upgrade for more conversations or wait {N} days for the cycle to reset."
