Convi's free trial starts when you install Convi, and lasts 7 days or 100 conversations, whichever comes first. During the trial, every skill and every channel is included, and Convi answers shoppers on your store once its app embed is on in your theme. This article is for store owners on the trial, or about to install Convi.
Plans: the free trial, for every new store · Where: Convi admin › Home and Settings › Plan & billing · Who: the store owner
What does the free trial include?
The free trial includes every skill and every channel, although Convi reads only part of a large catalog. In detail:
Your widgets can be live on your store, and Convi answers shoppers, once you switch on Convi's app embed in your theme: see Go live with the setup steps on Home.
In a catalog of more than 1,000 products, Convi reads about 1,000 of them. Home shows how many it has read, with the badge Free plan limit, and Settings › Plan & billing says that the Free plan stops after about 1,000: both mean your trial's limit. Every paid plan reads your whole catalog.
Team members and the public API aren't included, as in the Pro plan: they come with Premium. Shopper journeys, which the Pro plan includes, aren't part of the trial either.
You don't need a card, and the trial is never charged.
There is no free plan: after the trial, Convi needs a paid plan to keep answering shoppers.
How much of my trial is left?
The Free trial card shows what's left of your trial, in days and in conversations. To see it:
Go to Home, or to Settings › Plan & billing.
In the Free trial card, read the day of your trial, for example "Day 3 of 7", and the conversations you've used out of your trial's total, for example "12 of 100". Beside each, the card says how many days and conversations are left.
The trial ends when either one runs out. While the setup steps show on Home, the step Pick a plan gives the date too.

The free trial card counts the days and the conversations left in your trial.
What happens when the trial ends?
When the trial ends and you haven't picked a plan, Convi stops answering shoppers until you do:
Your widgets are hidden from shoppers, and Convi stops answering on every channel.
If a shopper writes again in a conversation that was already open, the conversation goes to your team under Needs help in Conversations, marked Reply limit reached. Your team is told as set in Where handoffs go: with Send to your helpdesks and the shopper's email, a ticket is created in each helpdesk you picked; otherwise, your team gets an email alert.
Your admin stays open, and everything you set up stays saved.
Settings › Plan & billing then says "Your trial has ended — your widgets aren't shown to shoppers". Select Pick a plan, choose a plan under Subscription plans, and approve it in Shopify. Your widgets are back as soon as the plan is active.
Warning: When the trial ends without a plan, shoppers stop getting answers. Picking a plan ends the trial at once and starts your first 30-day billing period, so pick it near the end of your trial, or as soon as the card shows only a few conversations left.
Can I get a second trial?
Each store gets only one free trial. Reinstalling Convi doesn't start another one, and buying any plan ends the trial at once.
Keep Convi after the trial
To keep Convi answering shoppers after the trial:
Go to Settings › Plan & billing.
Under Subscription plans, select the button of the plan you want, for example Choose Starter.
Approve the plan in Shopify.
Back in Convi, the plan shows Current plan. Your plan starts at once, and the trial ends.
