🛠️ Managing and Customizing Widget Languages
The ability to customize the language settings for your widget ensures that your customers receive a personalized experience in their preferred language. You can adjust and modify the content displayed in each language, but there are some key points to note about how languages are handled within Shopify.
Follow this guide to manage and customize the languages for your widget.
🛠️ How to Access Language Settings
To manage the language settings for your widget, navigate to Settings → Languages within your Shopify admin.
Here, you’ll be able to see the languages available for your store.
🧭 Understanding Language Handling
When you first install the widget, only the languages that were active at the time of installation will be available. These languages are automatically pulled from your Shopify store’s settings.
If you add new languages later on in Shopify, they will not automatically appear in the widget settings. However, if you need any new languages to be available for your widget, you can ask our support team to manually add them.
If you are a previous user and need additional languages added, please contact our support team, and they will be able to manually add the language you require. Currently, language additions are not automatic but can be handled quickly upon request.
💬 Customizing the Content
For each language, you can adjust various elements of the chatbot’s content to ensure it aligns with your brand and user preferences. This includes adjusting greetings, introduction text, placeholder text, predefined responses, error messages, fallback messages, button labels, and closing messages.
You can customize these elements independently for each language, giving you full control over the chatbot experience in every supported language. This way, the chatbot’s content can feel natural and localized for each user, enhancing the customer experience.
Note: The default language cannot be edited from this section.
🟢 Enabling and Saving Changes
Once you’ve customized the content for each language:
Save Changes: After editing the content, make sure to save the changes for each language to ensure the updates are live on your storefront.
Testing: Test the widget on your store to ensure that the language switch and custom content appear correctly for each available language.
🧠 Best Practices
✅ Ensure Accurate Translations: Make sure the translations of your widget content are accurate and appropriately localized for your target audience.
✅ Keep Language Consistent: Maintain consistent language and tone across different languages for a cohesive brand experience.
✅ Test Each Language: After making changes, test the widget in each available language to ensure everything displays as expected.
If you need any new languages added to your widget, please contact our support team for assistance. They’ll be happy to help!
